Meet Zen Blend

Zen is Kingdom Alpaca's guard llama purchased from Maple Leaf Llamas in Craftsbury, VT. The alpaca females think 'girls rule' until a stranger or predator visits the farm then they are more than willing to let Zen take charge!

When looking to choose a guard animal for the farm we looked into dogs and llamas. Using llamas as guard animals tipped the scales for several reasons. Being of the 'camilid' family meant vet needs, food, shelter, and shearing were compatible with the alpaca. We were also taken with Zen's presence and style. Not only is Zen a striking animal, he is gentle, mellow, and easy to handle. At 2 1/2 years Zen is assuming the role and responsibility as sentry of his domain.
